Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information PixelShorts ("we", "us") collects on pixelshorts.com, in the games played there, and in our apps on Google Play, and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can. We don't sell your information, and there is no advertising tracking or analytics on the website.
We are the data controller. Contact: [email protected].
1. Your PixelShorts account
A free account is optional. If you create one, we keep:
- your username, display name and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password. We never see or store the password itself;
- if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID and email address, which Google shares with us when you choose to sign in;
- when the account was made and when you last signed in.
We use these only to run your account and keep it secure.
2. Your games
When you play signed in, we keep your game progress: scores, records, stats, replays you save, tour progress, coins, the in-game items you own, your golfer's look, friends you add, and tournament entries. Scores, names and records may be shown on public leaderboards. Live multiplayer passes your moves and quick-chat messages between players; we don't store them.
As a guest, progress is kept only in your browser or on your device.
3. Purchases
- On the website, payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details; we never see them. Paddle tells us the order number, what was bought, the price, your country and the email address you gave at checkout, so we can add the content to your account and help with refunds.
- In our Android apps, payments are handled by Google Play. Google tells us the order number and what was bought.
We keep order records for six years, because UK tax law requires it.
4. Pub Games and other Android apps
If you sign in with Google Play Games, we receive your Play Games player ID and display name, and use them to save your coin balance, game progress and a history of in-game transactions (bets, wins and rewards) on our server. Coins have no cash value. Signing in is optional.
Pub Games shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising ID, device information and how you interact with ads to show and measure ads. You can turn off ad personalisation in your Android settings (Settings > Google > Ads). See how Google uses data from ads. Record Golf has no ads.
Achievements and leaderboards in our Android apps use Google Play Games Services.
5. Cookies
The website uses a single cookie, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, so no cookie banner is needed. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. YouTube videos in blog posts load from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play.
6. Security and hosting
Our website and game servers run on our own hardware in the United Kingdom. Traffic reaches them through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and may process your IP address to do so. Sign-up uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out bots. If something goes wrong, our server logs may briefly record your IP address, browser and the page requested.
7. Why we can use your information
- To provide what you asked for (your account, progress and purchases): this is needed to perform our contract with you.
- To keep the Services secure and fair (preventing abuse and cheating): our legitimate interests.
- To keep order records: a legal obligation.
8. How long we keep it
Account and game data are kept while your account is in use, and deleted when you ask. Order records are kept for six years. Server logs are rotated automatically, so old entries are overwritten within days.
9. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] with your username (or, for Pub Games, your Play Games name). We'll reply within a month. You can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Children
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top will change. We'll highlight significant changes on the website.
