Terms of Service
These terms cover pixelshorts.com, the games you can play on it, and the apps published by PixelShorts on Google Play (together, "the Services"). PixelShorts ("we", "us") is an independent game developer based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected].
By creating an account, playing our games or buying anything from us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
1. Accounts
- You can play most of our games as a guest. A free PixelShorts account keeps your records, progress and anything you buy.
- You must be at least 13 to create an account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Choose a name that isn't offensive or pretending to be someone else. We may change a name that breaks this.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
2. Playing fairly
Don't cheat, use bugs on purpose to get ahead, tamper with our servers or the game's data, automate play, or harass other players. If you do, we may remove scores, reset progress, or suspend or close the account. We will tell you why if we do.
3. Coins and other in-game items
Coins and the things you buy with them (gear, looks, emoji and so on) are earned by playing. They have no money value, can't be bought or sold for real money, and can't be swapped or transferred. We may rebalance prices, rewards and items as the games develop.
4. Paid content
Some games offer optional paid content, such as the Record Golf Course Pack. The main game stays free to play.
- Price. The price is shown before you pay and includes VAT or sales tax where it applies. It is a one-off payment: there are no subscriptions.
- Buying on the website. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- Buying in an Android app. Purchases made inside our Android apps are processed by Google Play under Google Play's terms.
- What you get. A personal licence to use the content, tied to your PixelShorts account. It is not a sale of the content itself, and you can't transfer or resell it. Sign in with the same account and it works both in the browser and in the Android app, wherever you bought it.
- Delivery. Content is added to your account straight away after payment. If it doesn't appear within an hour, contact us and we'll sort it out.
- Refunds. See the Refund Policy. It does not affect your statutory rights.
- If a game closes. If we ever stop running a game that has paid content, we will give at least 30 days' notice on this website. Content bought in the 90 days before that notice will be refunded on request.
5. Games that are still in development
Some of our games are prototypes or early versions. They may change a lot, have bugs, lose progress, or be taken down. Paid content is only sold for games we consider finished enough to play properly.
6. Things you post
If you share anything on the Services (such as a name, a picture or a replay), you keep the rights to it, and you allow us to show it on the Services. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful or abusive. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
7. Our games and content
The games, art, music, code and writing on the Services belong to PixelShorts or the people who licensed them to us. You may play them and share screenshots and videos of your play. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute them.
8. Liability
We work to keep the Services running well, but we can't promise they will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects paid content you've already bought, we'll say so on this website before it takes effect.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protections of your local consumer law, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
